Lifelines and Life Junctions11 July 2019
For those of you that know me, you will be aware that I have worked in UK retail financial services for 30+ years. It's been fascinating!
The best part is sharing the lives of people as they evolve, change and develop at each 'life junction' that comes along. What's a 'life junction'?
A 'life junction' can be anything major in life that changes your path. Retirement, inheritance, house move, job change, divorce, health issues, amongst many other junctions can bring new thinking to life, to anticipated plans and to financial planning objectives.
Be assured that life junctions can look sometimes scary when faced, especially when unexpected; however, this is where good financial planning and communication can help in managing expectations as to how a change can be worked through, usually successfully. In my many years of experience, talking through and mapping out changes via a diagram, or lifeline if you prefer, and being able to visualise subsequent changes to other plans can be a tangible way of understanding the opportunities ahead. These diagrams have proved invaluable to many, with 'can I have a copy' requests received at the end of a financial planning meeting.
One certainty is that life never stands still. Its variances, anticipated or otherwise, can be considered, even mapped, and this is something that we often achieve in our client meetings.
If you would like to consider your life junctions (good, bad or unplanned), then let the team at Chapters Financial know. We will be ready to draw your life plans when you are. No individual advice is provided during the course of this blog.
